The evidence

BIS 2025 describes tokenisation as programmable representation of claims on real or financial assets. It does not establish liquidity or validate any private token.

The business implication

The 2022 lens separates technological experimentation from durable commercial utility. Map the legal claim, asset custody, cash settlement and investor record. Test whether a conventional registry is sufficient before paying for distributed infrastructure.

What could change the result?

Smart-contract audits cannot resolve defective title, unsuitable distribution or unenforceable redemption.
