Business continuity: cash runway before growth

The pandemic-era lesson is to measure survival in cash weeks, not accounting profit.

The evidence

The World Bank warned in June 2020 of a deep global recession. Its contemporaneous projection is a historical forecast, not a final outcome.

The business implication

Build a weekly cash bridge that separates invoiced revenue from cash collections. Preserve productive capacity selectively, renegotiate payment calendars and identify a minimum operating footprint. A 13-week forecast should show the cash effect of each management action.

What could change the result?

Supplier interruption and slow receivables can invalidate annual budgets within weeks.
